iKea: Problematic (Part 1)
Pink's New Album (Funhouse)

I get it, the furniture is “bargain-priced”... but why does the customer service have to suffer so fucking much?
Finding a human being in that store is like searching for a lost earring... first of all, you have no idea where to look, and when you do remember where you've seen it last... Is it there? Is it not there? Is it somewhere else entirely?

The only reason I made the trip is becaue IKEA is full of “right now” furniture... my bedroom set was purchased from a “regular” furniture store for a not-quite-a-bargain- at-all price... and because one of the items is “backordered”, they are now quoting delivery at “December 12th”... I’m impatient and I needed a wall unit NOW. Right fucking NOW. So I head to the neighborhood IKEA store and since I am well aware of the spatial limitations of my car, I am set on having everything delivered later in the day. You’d think you can just pick what you need, pay for it and pay some more to have it delivered... without having to haul the furniture yourself from one side of the warehouse to the other and then haul it to the "delivery" desk. WHY? Why can’t I just get a paper slip for the items, pay for them and let the people who deliver the furniture (who are well equipped to do so) do all the lifting... because they drive around those cool little machine thiniges that make it easy, especially when getting items that are high up. I, on the other hand, had to climb god knows where for box #3 of my bookcase, then shimmy down 8 or so feet without breaking myself or the bookcase in half*... as three "employees" watched with amusement... not one offered to help. Once spotted, the boys in yellow tried to quickly dispurse. It wasn't until I started cursing like a truck driver that everyone started helping me and only then did my shit got pushed to the checkout... at least they helped push the three carts... BIG DEAL!

For a fee, they should offer a “shopping assistant” if they are too cheap to hire more people... I have no problem paying... I just got a bookcase for half the price of my last pair of shoes. Would be nice to have someone who can do all the climbing and stacking and pushing of the boxes to the cashier, so I can pay someoen else to deliver them to my house ANYWAY.

*Awesome workout...
